Comfort Quilts

Each new family that comes to Ronald McDonald House receives a Welcome Bag containing a few items to make their stay a little more comfortable and make them feel special and cared for. We try to include a small toy for the child, a notepad and pen, some toiletries, and most importantly a small, handmade quilt. These quilts can be very comforting to the children and also serve as treasured mementoes of their time spent here at our House. Your support in helping to provide a quilt would be greatly appreciated.
  • Quilts should be crafted from new, clean fabrics only. Please do not use material that has been used for other purposes or kept in storage.

  • It is recommended that you wash and bag your quilt before bringing it to the House.

  • Please use our 40” x 40” pattern when making the quilts so that we can be sure that all the quilts will be the same size.

  • We welcome quilts of all patterns and colors.

  • We are also happy to accept donations of 5 ½ inch pre-cut squares.

  • Quilts can be prepared on your own schedule and delivered to our House any day between 9 AM and 9 PM.

  • Volunteers are welcome to join our Quilting Class on the first Thursday of every month from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Ronald McDonald House located at 350 Erkenbrecher Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45229. An instructor will be on hand to teach you how to cut and assemble quilts. Groups with over 5 members must pre-register with Lisa Davis (contact information is below).
For the safety of our House children and parents, anyone who is coughing, feverish, has a runny nose or has been exposed to a contagious disease should not be involved in the quilt-making process. Some of our children have immune-suppressed bodies and cannot fight even the simplest cold.
