“Jensen brings a smile to everyone’s face because he’s so strong and so full of personality already!” -Courtney, Jensen’s mom
A message from Courtney, Jensen’s mom:
We found out at our 20 week ultrasound that little man had a tumor on the end of his tailbone called a Sacrococcygeal Teratoma and were originally referred to Indianapolis for further testing. After our testing in Indianapolis, they informed us they were not very comfortable following our pregnancy because of the perimeters of the tumor. They then referred us to Cincinnati Children’s fetal care center. We were informed right before Christmas that we had three weeks before they wanted to not only deliver early, but by classical C-section. Fast forward to early January when we went to multiple appointments and then were delivered at 33 weeks and 6 days on January 11th. Our little guy weighed in at 5 lbs and 8 oz but once his tumor was removed, he weighed only 4 lbs and 4 oz. We are working on his feeds, getting stitches removed, weaning him off of oxygen and keeping him moving in an uphill direction so we can go home.
A social worker contacted me from Cincinnati Children’s and informed us that, since we live three and a half hours away, we were candidates to stay at Cincinnati’s Ronald McDonald House. After being discharged from the hospital, I needed somewhere I could rest comfortably through the night and somewhere I could call home away from home but still be close to my littlest love. I never have to worry about if I’m going to be able to afford dinner or if I’m going to have somewhere to wash my laundry. I’m forever grateful.
Everyone who stays at Ronald McDonald House has a story. We are all doing the best we can and no one takes it for granted. The love from those who work for RMH And those who volunteer to help doesn’t go unnoticed and  I know myself and my husband could not be more thankful.
We are so forever grateful to stay at RMH. The amount of stress staying with you guys has taken from us is incredible and just saying thank you doesn’t even seem like enough. But thank you for the opportunity and everything that you guys do for us!
